Chef A.J Dixon grew up on Milwaukee’s southside. Her late mother Susan, was a great influence into A.J becoming a chef. Susan loved food, and loved to cook. A.J grew up in the kitchen eating and cooking everything her mother created. Chef A.J Dixon was at her mother’s side cooking along with her. In 1996, after the death of Susan, A.J made the decision to follow a different path, and in 2000 enrolled in the culinary Arts program at M.A.T.C. Graduating with a culinary degree, A.J has cooked all over the city of Milwaukee, until following her dream, and opened Lazy Susan MKE, April of 2014.
You will find Lazy Susan located on the corners of Smith and Howell, just off the path of busy Kinnickinick in bustling Bay View. Lazy Susan wants you to feel like your at home. From the random salt and pepper shakers to the handcrafted tables, or heirloom doilies on the wall, something always will spark up a memory for you.
You can expect a smart wine list, great food and a story about every salt and pepper shaker in the restaurant. Lazy Susan can cater to people who are Gluten free, Vegan, Vegetarian and even to people on the Keto diet. No matter what your style, you will be sure to find something you will love on the menu .Special dietary requests are always welcomed, just as if you were going home to dinner.
Aj’s style is eclectic but with a homey, warming feeling. The restaurant is bright and cheery which just reflects Aj’s personality. With such a love for cooking, if you were to ask AJ what her favorite dish to make was, she would say she can’t answer that question, because she enjoys all of it.
